Bob Speers received his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University (B.S.) in 1967.  He then graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law (J.D.) in 1972.  He practiced with the Aurora law firm of Reid, Ochsenschlager, Murphy & Hupp from 1972 through 1979.  In 1979 Mr. Speers, George Lindner and Tim Reuland formed the firm of Lindner, Speers & Reuland, P.C.  In November 2006 the firm changed to Speers, Reuland & Cibulskis, P.C.  Mr. Speers is a member of the American Association for Justice, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and Kane County Bar Association.  Mr. Speers served as the Kane County Bar Association President in 1988-89.  Mr. Speers has been selected as a member of the “Leading Lawyer Network” in general personal injury law and alternative dispute resolution for both commercial litigation and personal injury.  He has also been selected as an “Illinois Super Lawyer” for general personal injury.

Bob Speers concentrates his practice in areas of personal injury, wrongful death litigation, and mediation and arbitration of personal injury, wrongful death and commercial cases.  Mr. Speers has been to verdict over 60 times in jury trials involving automobile collisions, products liability, construction site injuries, premises liability, defamation, dramshop, fire loss, and causes of action under the Animal Control Act.  These cases have involved death, paralysis, brain injury, amputation and other serious injuries.  Mr. Speers has two jury verdicts in Kane County in excess of $1 million.  From 1972 through 2003, Mr. Speers handled hundreds of cases for Farmers’ Insurance including 36 jury verdicts.  Mr. Speers has been certified as a Civil Mediator for the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit.  He has been selected as an arbitrator in over 40 cases.  He has been a mediator in over 275 tort and commercial litigation cases.
