Professional Information
 

Timothy J. Reuland is a 1973 graduate of the Northwestern University School of Law, cum laude, and was Executive Editor of the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Loyola University of Chicago in 1970, and was a recipient of the President’s Medallion. He is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America, as well as the American, Illinois State, Chicago and Kane County Bar Associations. He authored the chapter “Proving Special Damages: Medical Expenses and Lost Wages” in Proving and Disproving Damages in Personal Injury Cases published by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the chapter on “Workers’ Compensation Liens and Employers’ Rights to Reimbursement” in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association’s Workers’ Compensation Notebook, and has also published on damage proof in the Kane County Bar Association Journal. He has been invited to speak on multiple occasions at continuing legal education seminars sponsored by the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, and the Kane County Bar Association. Notable results include $1.3 million for a worker who lost four fingertips in a punch press accident, $1.85 million for a man injured in car accident, $3 million for two elderly people injured in an automobile crash, and $1.3 million for the death of an unmarried 23 year old man killed in a collision with a semi. In 2004 he received the Kane County Bar Association’s Community Service Award for his involvement with various community organizations, including Hesed House, a service center for the homeless, and the Marmion Academy Board of Trustees.  Please click this link to view the announcement of this award.

 

Practice Information
 

Mr. Reuland has been actively engaged in civil trial work for over three decades.  He has extensive experience in all kinds of personal injury litigation and trials, including wrongful death, products liability, professional negligence, and vehicle crash cases.  He also regularly litigates business and commercial cases such as shareholder and partnership disputes, corporate dissolutions, will contests, and contract cases.  He has the unusual distinction of being selected by his peers as a “Leading Lawyer” in two categories, personal injury law and commercial litigation.  He has also been recognized by his peers as a “Super Lawyer.”  Some of his notable results include the recovery of $1.3 million dollars for a factory worker who lost four fingertips in a punch press accident, $1.85 million for a 41 year old man injured in a car accident, and $3 million for two elderly people injured in an automobile crash.
